is my dog pregnant

I have a 1 year old dog and we think she went into heat around july to aug. She never bleed. Around aug the 20th we saw that her breast was some what larger. If she is pregnat we think she is around 6 weeks. The thing is she is not big just in the chest area. We dont feel any pups but then again my husband and i never had a pregnant dog before. The first 2 weeks when we thought she was pregnant she had stop eating or ate very little. She is always barking now. And just this week she has been refusing food again. She is a mix between lab and dashound and looks more like dashound then lab and is a small to med size dog. She also been sleeping alot more but still very active when played with. Right now you can see her nipples fron a distance evan. It is just we cant feel any pups and her stomach is only a little hard but not much. Does it sound like she might be? we did not plan on this in fact we where just about to call the doc to get her fix. She is chain up in our back yard during the day until our fence is put up so i guess a male could of got to her. we need help to find out rether she is or not and we dont have the money to take her to the vet to find out right now.

the only way to find out for sure is to take her to the vet for an ultrasound...if she isnt have her spayed...if she is well i can assure you that you are facing a lot more money then just a vet visit as having a pregnant bitch and then puppies is expensive

OMG you really have a dilemma on your hands. First: a 1 year old is way too young to have a litter. Do you have any idea what potential male could have got to her? If she is more Doxie looking, then I assume she is fairly little. I'm sorry, but IMO you have no choice but to bring her to a vet to determine whether or not she is.
Sorry that your introduction to the forum is one with such distress.

Just a suggestion as I noticed you said you didn't have enough money to bring her to the vets. Try asking if you can pay in installments. Some vets will do this. It is important that you bring her the the vet though. Then you may be able to determine approx how many puppies and their positions and such. Also your dog will need to have a check up to see if she is in good condition to have puppies and also maybe you can then get suggestions on care for her.
