Getting hair to grow back faster?

My malamute was just treated for hot spots a little less then 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately the vet did an incredibly poor job of shaving the spots and now he has 2 very large spots where his hair was shaved down to the skin. The fur in my opinion is growing back faster then I expected, but I was wondering if there is any supplement out there or anything I can feed him that will help his coat get back to the way it looked before the hot spots as quickly as possible. When I say quickly, I do realize it will take months not weeks to get it back.
