Hmm, that's interesting - our "baby carrots" in the UK are just that, baby carrots of a specific variety that only grow to a small size. They still have skins on etc. I've never seen baby carrots that are shaped in the way you describe.

I used to buy them years ago as a quick snack BE, but they cost more than a regular bag of carrots. When this article was sent to me I read it and agreed. I had baby carrots sitting in the fridge and after a short time they got a white film over them. (and no it was not mold).

Actually we have carrot sticks that are cut and shaped from carrots (obviously
) I wonder if in the UK they use the same process as they do with these baby carrots? I'll have to find out now!

I buy the frozen sliced carrots for them. They love them.

I took the lazy route Moo but not very often. Those baby carrots costs too much in the bag. ....Just wondering though...I would give my pooches carrots without the skin. Does it make a difference if I left the skin on?

I usually feed my dogs just the skins and tops when I'm preparing the whole carrots for human food.
The dogs still seem to be quite alive and well. lolOther occasions they'll split a whole carrot- washed of course. |

So it really doesn't matter if the skin is on or not? Geeze, for years I have been peeling the skins off. I know that the skins on most vegetables carry the most nutrients but I was told to take the skins off. Thanks Moo...you have made life a lot easier over here.
