Question I'm running out of Ideas,

My older lab, is allergic to flea's. We tried many things been to the vet. We can't get rid of them, All the animals have flea collars now. They have all been wormed with a flea thing in the wormer, they've had drops.. Anything are vet tells us we do. We vacuum everyday. She's had baths, we started benadril ( i think thats what it was.) for her. My other dog doesn't have a flea on him. but Keeper is covered in them, it all started with my sister getting a stray cat, which now has no fles either. The flea's seem to be living off only keeper, and shes the one most bothered by them.

shes sad to look at she looks like shes covered in hot spots, and shes got the cone on most of the time to stop the licking.

Please anyone have any idea's? the vets not been much help as nothing seems to work.. I've used products like frountline.
Her baths are with flea shampoo, or and oatmeal shampoo.

Thanks, so much.

I hope I have expressed enough that this dog, isn't being neglected thats shes been to the vet many times for this, if I'm missing something, just tell me.

Have you taken her to a groomer for a flea dip? It is a little bit stronger flea killer than flea and tick shampoo.

Also try bathing her with plain ivory bar soap. It sounds funny but it really does a good job at killing them.

I would spray your yard also with flea killer. Even though only one pet has them they are living somewhere. Also wash/spray ALL her beds and anywhere she ussually sleeps.

I hope that helps and you can get rid of them! I would also try going to another vet to get a second opinion. Your vet doesnt seem to be trying to hard or helping very much.

Perhaps a health food store. I don't know about a feed store, but it can't hurt to try. Just be extremely careful to make sure it's food grade. They make it for pools, too, and that is NOT safe.

She has garlic in her food, but then she won't touch it for a dog thats not picky, we just left that idea be. she sleeps on my bed, bad i know but shes always have ever since I was little. I've never tried the lvory soap just dawn dish soap was recommended thats does a pretty good job they show up dead on the towels, but there coming in the house still so it really, bath her and keep her inside.

I will stop by the health food store on the weekend I need a few thing, thats much closer than the feed store anyways.

I hope one of these works, people that don't know see her and think gross, then look at Gunniess and he's got such a nice coat.

Have you looked into her food for allergens? Sometimes that will cause an suseptibility to fleas that wouldn't be there otherwise.

Has she had a blood panel done? I tend to suspect an underlying disorder when one dog in the house has all the fleas and the other doesn't. Something's out of whack.

IGR spay inside and out will help keep the population down. Worked a treat for our family before the invention of Advantage. I assume by drops, you mean that kind, not the Hartz-waste-your-money kind.
