Still not sure how to cope.

I know I recently I talked about Jasmine, the fawn Doberman I tried to help.

ALL of my rescue "FRIENDS" turned their back on me when I needed them the most.

My friend who does all breed rescue, which I talk to SEVERAL times a day, who has taken a few of the dobermans and ran them through her rescue(I foster, they pay and advertise), even blew me off on this girl.

Anyway, I talk to her tonight, she tells me her saga of the 2 dogs she took in just before Jasmine. They are 2 semi feral GSD/PITT mixes about 9 months old, both living outside as strays.

Big surprise, one has just suddenly turned on the foster family. Foster family wants to continue to work with the dog.

How can I NOT feel left to burn? I just feel like I killed a dog worth the time because NOBODY felt they could help with the care and the financial part. My "friends" rescue is not hurting for money!

It KILLS me in 5 years of rescue, and over 20 dogs I have never had to put one to sleep.

I still feel comfortable in my decision I made ALONE, but I have not stopped thinking about it.

How do I deal with it??? Is this part of rescue I have not dealt with?

I know I've been super busy lately and not on much but I have missed something here and will try to find it in other posts. I don't know what happened with Jasmin only that the rescue network let you down.

I would like to talk to you about it. I also just had backs turned on me. I think I've made lemonade out of the lemons though.
It still hurts the way it played out though. Everything in life is an education.

I'll see if I can get the whole story so you don't have to recap. Maybe I'll have something then.

Meanwhile, hugs T. Nothing is easy in rescue, some are just smoother than others.
