Cole has a new home!
Cole makes our 2nd adoption! He's such a nice 8 month old boy. His story is that someone pulled over on the road and pushed him and his sister Loni (a chocolate) out. The guy who witness it couldn't get the plate numbers but got the 2 to safety then I took them.
We're kind of amazed that the black male went before the chocolate sister but that's fine by us! He's in a fantastic place with another older yellow lab, tons of room to play, a wonderful toy box for the 2 dogs and a huge peacock enclosure safe from critters and canines alike! Then there's the creek and pond... what more could a young labbie boy ask for ??? Best wishes Sweet Cole! (Not the best pix but the sun glare was terrible. ) |

Way to go T. I would have thought he would have been hard to place because of his coloring. I'm happy and relieved that with some people coloring does not matter. It is the attitude and temprament of the dog that should shine through.
Good luck Cole! |

. I love black dogs/cats and never realized they are hard to place until I started fostering.

Sometimes location is key so we get some from other rescues. Some we pull from shelters all over the state. Of course we always have owners handing over their percieved headaches too. It's so hard to be nice when we are taking them in from an owner! This is a process I've developed over time. I spend the weekdays processing petfinder photos and bios, sending out and processing applications, Vet appointment and the like... Then on the weekends I set up home visits, meet & greets and of course, Adoptions! When there are new and little ones in, many applications follow. It takes usually about 2 weeks to process everything at the earliest. Some are of course quicker than others. Then who ever is approved gets appointments set up to meet them. If they're all ready to go they can be adopted then. If not ready yet, they will usually pick them up and finalize the adoption then. |
