Question needing to find a dog a new home.

I am from the horse forum, and love it so much there.

We are moving and I have to get rid of my dog, so I thought I would come here.

Where could I post something about needing to find him a home?

MODS- PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD.

Can you give us a little more information about the dog and situation so we can try to direct you to a rescue or help you keep the dog?

I cannot keep the dog.
Due to certain circumstances, we had to move. We have two dogs, and my family has chosen to keep the other one. We cannot risk getting caught having two dogs.

He is a 10 year old corgi/chihuahua mix. He is friendly and loves to play. The vet says he is as healthy as our 4 year old. He is up to date on all shots and is neutered. I wouldn't recommend a home with children, as he does NOT like to be picked up but is very willing to do anything else. He is a problem with house breaking, which is why we are having such a hard time finding a home. I think someone with a lot of time could definately break him of it, as he doesn't do it nearly as much as he used to.

So, your trying to place a 10 year old dog? Is there no where you can move with him? Placing dogs that age is hard to do, not to mention how hard it is on the animal.

Its not easy, but I found a place to go with 3 Dobermans and a Great Dane. Its a very nice home in a safe community.

I have 4 dogs. Never and I do mean NEVER would I leave one, two, three, or four of my dogs behind. I have a contract in my heart that says I will love and take care of them until they cross the bridge.

If you have to rehome one, why not the 4 year old? He or she is more than likely going to be much easier to place.

I have been holding my thoughts ever since I read your thread and I will probably get slapped for saying this. You joined this forum close to 4 years ago and have 13 posts? Now you want, in my eyes want to dump your senior dog?

A ten year old, unhousebroken, cranky small dog who cannot be picked up is going to be terribly difficult to place.

This dog has been part of your family for this long- surely you can find it in your heart to make living arrangements that do not require you to give him up?
His future in not bright at all without you.
Not even a little.
