Jazz not doing so good.

To say I am scared is an understatement.

Let the dogs out to potty and Jazz kinda wobbled like she was drunk then laid down. She did get right back up like nothing was wrong, like she just lost her balance.

We immediately went to the vet where a full blood panel, a through physical, and a fecal were done.

It showed her hemocrit was at 18%...low normal is 35% Jazz is SEVERLY, anemic. This explains the wobbly weakness. Unfortunately, the answers only created more questions.

Liver and Kidney function are normal which is a small amount of good news. Appetite is normal, urine, stool also normal. No fever, heartrate and respiration all normal.

Vet sent blood samples to an outside lab to run another CBC, and Immune Profile. Also having a Tick Panel done to rule out tick diseases. In the meantime Jazz is on Prednisone as well as Iron supplements and raw Beef Liver. She is also taking the antibodies used to treat tick illnesses.

My biggest fear is Auto-immune hemolytic anemia. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Bailey had hemolytic anemia. That was a terrible ordeal that she lost. RIP, Bailey.

I hope that poor Jazz does not have it. No dog should have to go through that.

My breeder recently lost one of her dogs to Auto-immune hemolytic anemia. She spent THOUSANDS on her dog. In the end nothing could help the dog.

Jazz is in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted. We are here for you.

I'll put you and Jazz in my prayers - I really hope you find out what is wrong and that it's easily treatable for her.
