People are ridiculous!!! After 8 years???

What kind of disgusting, idiotic people dump their dogs after 8 years of loyal friendship.

These two dogs are in a HIGH KILL shelter in Washington State after their owner, who had them since they were pups, dumped them. "Shanghei and Beijing" are neutered males, 7 and 8 years old. All the shar pei rescues are full and have no place for them to go.
Can you provide a temporary or permanent home for these two sweet boys?

Sadly, that's how most dogs end up in shelters. They are thown out like a old worn out pair of shoes with no more regard.

I wish I had a spot for them. They're probably closer to Canada or eastern WA? If near Seattle, let me know.. Let me know their location anyway.
I'll send out an s.o.s. to the rescue network to see if anyone can pull them into safety.

The craigslists posts make me sick. We have a bunch like that. I can't even imagine dumping my dogs anywhere after 7-8 days, let alone years.

If I go to petfinder and type in my zipcode Mature Dog Adoptions comes up. It's all across Ontario but there are a lot of owner surrenders. Also we have quite a few on craigslist. It's so sad!

I sound like a broken record. Shame on people that do this to their dogs/family members. If there is any light at the end of the tunnel, remember, what goes around comes around. These owners will get their just dues in the end.

Ya know life just throws curve balls sometimes. Sure they shouldn't have dumped them. They should have tried to rehome them, or found a rescue organization. But you cannot say how your life will be in 8 years. So don't judge unless you've been in that situation.

For one, I have a heart, so there is nothing in the world that would make me dump dogs that I own & love after however many years together. Dump dogs in a kill shelter? Over my dead body. Maybe down the line, being together is a very difficult thing to pull off, BUT there are dozens and dozens of other (better) options.

We can never predict the future, but there is no excuse for this. I made the decision to move back in town from country a few months ago. Until the house sells I have to rent. Who would have thought I could find such a nice home in a great neighborhood that would allow me my 3 Dobermans and a Great Dane.
I'm just saying it can be done, I actually had 3 options. Its not the cheapest place out there, but I did what I had to do. If I had to take on a 2nd job to make it work I would.
