AKC Cocker Spaniel needs a new home

Dusty is n AKC registered cocker who came to me 2 months ago. He was quite a mess and was truly hated by his owner. I really didn't want him, but could not stand how bad he looked and didn't want him to go somewhere worse.
I cleaned him up and got him neutered as well as taught him some manners, but he is just not working out as a farm dog. He is not good with cats or other farm animals. He kills chickens and would love to kill my cat if he could. He is also an escape artist. That is not really a problem as he just want to be with me, but if he gets out and the chickens are out, it is a bad deal. We have re-enforced the dog run many times and he still manages to climb out.
Dusty is a very sweet loving got who just wants to be in your lap all the time. He has a beautiful personality and is great at the dog park with people and other dogs and kids. He is yappy out side and will "talk" when he is in the house.
Dusty is house broken (He was not when I got him) and a year old. His papers can be transferred to his new owner easy enough. He is registered in my name as his last owner never bothered to register him, and the time before late fees was running out on registering him.
I believe he would make a great agility dog, or detection dog. his nose is always to the ground. He might also make a good field bird dog. I know he loves to hunt birds!
His adoption fee is $150 to cover his expenses and to make sure his new owner really wants him. References are required.
If Dusty seems like the dog for you let me know. He is in South West Washington State. Meeting someone part way with him is do-able.

When we first got him.

And Dusty now
