Humane Society

I was very pleased about the number of people adopting dogs this weekend. I was at the Humane Society on Friday evening to meet Lola and the waiting room was full with people waiting for meetings and there were a few people taking new dogs home. On saturday I was there for almost 3 hours in total with Buddy. The waiting room was standing room only the entire time and all of the adoption tables were full. It made me feel good that so many people were there to adopt. Unfortunately the kennels were full, most of them were large dogs. It seems as though people are losing their homes and cannot take their large dogs to apartments.

Its so sad to see all the shelters full of large dogs, and like you said people are losing their homes and not making arrangements to take their dogs.
It makes me mad, there are places to rent that will allow large dogs.

I am glad the Humane Society was having a good weekend!

It is sad, that is what happened with Max. I know for a fact there were many places that would have allowed him. They did not want him in a small apartment.

They just did a story on my news the other night about more owner surrenders. Can't remember the exact numbers, but around 500 animals a month in the norm here now. Sorry, NEVER would I give up my one and only love if I lost my house.

Glad to know people are rescuing, but sad to know people are faced with giving their dogs up. I personally cannot imagine anything separating me from my dogs!
