Unhappy separation anxiety?

my husband and i left for texas for thanksgiving and were not able to bring our lab fey, she just turned 2. we left her at a friends for 5 days and when we got back she was soooo happy to see us. we were told she acted fine there, no messes, no tearing anything up. but when we got home she is now crying. we got her a stuffed animal and she started babying it. she curls on the couch with said toy and whimpers. does anyone know of anything we might be able to do to get our baby back to normal? or do you think it she might work it out herself in a few day?

is she spayed?

if shes carrying the toy around and babying it and she isnt spayed it may be a false pregnancy

if she is spayed she may just be thrown off...go about your normal routine and act as if nothing is different and im sure she will get used to everything again soon

no shes not spayed at all...i will definitly try that. its what i told hubby this morning but then i started worrying myself. we were planning on getting her a kitten for christmas ( she LOVES cats, cleans them, plays carefully with them, etc) so maybe that would help her to.

unless you have her intact for a reason i would suggest having her spayed if it is a falsie they can be sorta rough on females and some will get them every heat cycle

the plan is to have one litter, and yes we do have homes for them already. if she for some reason has 15 when we do breed her then they will all have good homes (its kinda like first say of yes, first to get puppy, and its all family and friends who want them). she has only had 2 heat cycles ( and she's an inside dog so isnt around any other animals without supervision) i was waiting till she had her third or till after she turned 2 yrs old( dec 15th). i went home for lunch just to check on her and i do believe she's nesting. my big blanket was rolled into a ball and she had all her toys laying around it with her in the center. so at least now i know whats ailing her...i think.

i understand all that...rufus has no issues on that, no hip dysplasia, no eyes probs, and no ear probs...i dont remember the others either but my mom has everything checked out 2 times a year just in case...shes just slightly overprotective...hehe. i just have to get fey checked out for all of it. if she does have issues then no i wont breed her, i know better . i'd hate to be one to keep breeding in that stuff.

also----we use to breed golden retrievers and had to do health checks on them too.
