Why would you toss your old girl and keep the pup? Especially if you've known she doesn't like the pup? The pup has a chance at a new start with another family, a 5 year old... it's soooooo much harder on them

Sounds like out with the old and in with the new

I agree. A pup is much easyer to place thena older dog. Besides you made a commitment to your rottie, you owe it to her to finish what you started. Puppies are cute, but I bet your rottweiler would give her life for yours. That out weighs CUTE in my book.

Splatter has been a very sick ......23 month old ,and i'm not going to let anyone think i'd give him away ,would you take a seziure dog fairydogmother or bearbestfriend or would you try to find a loving family family to take Sassy ,she to the point she cant be in the same room with him so i'm not kicking her to the curb ,Sassy has come along way from her first owner...but has scare from that and i'm talk to the vet and a rotti owner and breeder and rescue and she told me the same ,she will kill him and i can"t take the chance and you would not either,i'm avery good furmom and i'm doing this for Sassy to have a family to be the only pupper so she can have all the love in the home because she does need it ,not saying she doesnt get love,or it that was the cast ....she would have been dead along time ago,at 4 months so please dont tell me to get rid of a sick and needy siziure aussie.I have rescue three loving dogs and love them to the end.Aussiemom2

I think it is sad to get rid of your first commitment. If your a "furmom" then she should be your first worry. You should have considered her wellbeing first. Sorry, just my opinion. I understand the pups problems, but how can you want to get rid of a dog you have taken care of for so long, and is a family member. Like FDM said, out with the old and in with the new.

I saved one from the shelter as a matter of fact and she's got an application that is so far outstanding. Oh, and she's also deaf!

http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...petid=12072787

check her out.
I stand by my opinion that:

It's easier to place an old, 2 legged, deaf, one eyed seizure ridden dog than a great 4-8 year old that's nice, perfect temperament and health. Not that they can't be placed but it almost always takes sooo much longer!
To toss her aside at this point in her life is one of the saddest things I see in rescue and it disturbs me greatly. Sorry if you don't see it.

You had her first and should not have been bringing in others if she was not socialized enough to accept new fur kids in the family.

It would be way easier to place a young friendly aussie who has seizures than a middle aged rottie that has a past of having problems with other dogs. Believe me.

If my parents would let me I would take your aussie since I am looking for a aussie. However i cant so I hope you make a good choice and stick to your first commitment you made and thats too Sassy.

I'm sorry, but I'm with everyone else. You got the rottie first. She was there first. By the sounds of it, a lot of the 'not liking' the pupp problem could have to do with you choosing the puppy over the rottie.

I'm sorry, but mostly for the dog. You've got yourself into too much, and the one to suffer shoudn't be the dog you've had for most of her life, if any dog is going to have to be rehomed, it should be the puppy.

There are a lot of people who would take an aussie puppy - even if the puppy is sick - over an older rottie. And I feel bad for your old gal, becuase the chances of her finding a good home at that age, with those problems are far less than that sick little puppys chances.
