Dog not eating - blockage?

My dobie wasn't interested in her food (dry) this morning or this evening. I am going to take her to the vet tomorrow a.m. My stomach is tied in knots ... the last time she wouldn't eat, she had a blockage in her stomach, and the emergency hospital had to operate. I watch her like a hawk to make sure she doesn't eat anything she's not supposed to ... she has a history of doing that ... hence the blockage earlier. She is drinking water; I have not seen a bowel movement. She is acting normally and playing with her toys. I do have some doggie laxative (left over from our last ordeal) that I can give her tonight and see if it improves the situation. Is this a good idea? I am so scared it's a blockage.

I wouldn't give her a laxative.

If she's drinking and acting normally, I wouldn't worry too much. One of my dogs does that occasionally. She just doesn't feel like eating.

Is her stomach gurgling? I think I'd just go to the vet in the morning.

I've not observed an gurgling? Would that be a good or bad sign in the case of a blockage. I'm just worried because the only other time she has done this, she did have a blockage. I guess the best thing is to let the vet tell me what's going on.

My thought is if she's drinking and not vomiting, there's not a blockage, but I'm not sure about that. Please let us know what the vet says. Good luck.

gurgling means there is movement/digestion in the gut...you may have to put your ear to the dogs belly to hear it...just like a person...although that dosent necessarily mean no blockage...i hope its good news

Update: took Faye with me to the barn this morning, and when we got home, I offered her a little bit of dry food. She was very interested and gobbled it down. She did have a bowel movement late last night, but she also threw up in the early morning - it was liquid, possibly because she had not eaten in close to 36 hours by that point. I had already made an appointment w/ my vet when she ate this morning, but I called them back and asked if it would be OK to just watch her through today. They said it was my call, and I told them I would keep her at home, but would bring her in if anything else odd happened.
