Winnie's Story

My boss is trying to adopt Winnie, however, since her story aired on the local television station last night, she has a waitlist of people wanting to adopt her!

Winnie is a pretty, well behaved, housebroken, 30 pound, 8-month-old puppy who resembles a miniature black German Shepherd. She was not picked up as a stray. She was abused and stuffed down a sewer drain in North Miami – and… had neighborhood kid NOT seen what happened, would have died down there. Because of the extent of her injury, amputation was the only answer. Surgery was scheduled and has since been performed ~~ and Winnie is doing GREAT! Until we find her new forever home, Winnie is living with her rescuer and 2 Great Danes… She is doing great – going up and down stairs and does not know that she is missing a rear limb. Talk about resilience.

That's the bad thing about dog's stories that are aired is everybody wants THAT dog. While some of the people will adopt a different dog, most don't seem to look at any other dog .

Wishing your boss luck though!

Maybe they should start a continual local channel of all the dogs in shelters in your area.

I hope your boss gets her!

The media is a great source to help a dog in serious need as they do get such response, a hand picked great home can be found.

I do hope it works for you boss though since they did apply before the media hit.
Odd they would have done that with a app for the pup in though???

I think because when people see and read about Winnie their first response is to save her. Then they talk it over with family and they back out. I suppose they are trying to acquire additional applications just in case. I am happy that she has a list of people on the waitlist.
