Update #2 -- Louise is HOME!
Well.. we don't know how it happened, or why. But she is 100% better.
As of this morning her kidney values were back to low normal, however she had become slightly anemic. One thought was IMHA? Still unsure. Apparently she just needed some serious IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and now she's back to herself. She hasn't passed any stool since yesterday, although she was on IV metronidazole and is going to continue on oral meds. We still have several tests pending, so we'll see if any of them give us answers? We are waiting on lepto titer, pancreatic profile, urine culture, and aldosterone. She is on a large amount of medications: 1. Prednisone 2. Budesonide 3. Famotidine 4. Omeprazole 5. Amoxicillin 6. Metronidazole Two steroids, two stomach protectants, and two antibiotics. The doctor on her case was not her primary internist, but now her acquired secondary internist. And these crazy specialists don't take anything lightly. Don't blame them. I am VERY happy Louise has made a recovery after I really thought she was on death's doorstep yesterday. She came out with tail wagging and jumping on me and talking as she does (she's a roo-roo-roo-er). ![]() So Louise may have several lives here, she told someone she wasn't ready to go! I just hope this doesn't come back. Especially since we are uncertain what it is/was. But.. thanks all you pro-doggers.. you thoughts made a difference! |

What wonderful news and a ton of weight lifted off of your heart. Hope the vets can find a clear cut reason for what was going on, so you can treat it faster next time or avoid it all together.
Stay well for mummy Miss. L . |
