coughing noise..

my boyfriend also has a husky. he is a 9 month old intact male.. lately he has been doing this coughing/choking/wheezing/i dont even know sounding noise. i dont even know how to describe it. its very deep sounding and quite loud. i think most of the time he does it after he gets out of his crate in the morning or after my boyfriend gets home from work to let him out. he has only done it maybe 4 times in the last week and a half or 2 weeks. he has a plastic type nylabone in his cage with his bed. for all we know he hasnt gotten into anything that he shouldnt of or eaten anything he shouldnt of. when he did it today he said he seemed to just want to go lay down after he did it.

my boyfriend scheduled a vet appointment for friday but i just wanted to post something up here and see if anyone had any ideas.

its not after he drinks or eats or anything.. 2 times it was after he woke up in the morning.. like i said the noise is hard to describe.. if i could get a sound bite or something i would post it but i never know when its going to happen.

Has he gotten the coughing kennel vaccine?

My husky started this horrible sneeze/cough after his. The vet says some dogs react this way to that vaccine. Regardless, I'll never get that vaccine again...he still has fits every once in a while.

There's no way to know what's going on with him, other than a vet visit. Could be several things.
