    Chronic Hiccups

For the past few days, I've notice my chihuahua having hiccups. And it seems he as them ALL the time. Is there anything I can do, because he'll hiccup so much he'll dry heave/throw up.

have you had the dog checked by a vet? Hiccups are usually indigestion but can be more serious like the heart, or problems with the throat.

My dog is one year old. He's been to the vet for his annual checkup/vaccinations and all was well there. Maybe it is indigestion? I haven't changed his diet or anything so I'm not sure...is it a young dog thing?

whew... Not sure why I thought 10 years old. Usually a young dog with the hiccups grows out of them. You might want to look at your diet you are feeding as sometimes swolled air from mild indigestion is causing this.
    What do you feed?

hiccups are very very common in young dogs. most puppies have them every day and even young adults have them often. then one day they just grow out of them.

however, i don't think it's as common that they get sick because of them.
Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, filling an emptiness we don't even know we have.
