need some recomendations please.

cocos kedney infection has cleared and she was feeling much better. she was sent home with perdisone because she was limping alittle and it really helped her arthrits and she acutally felt good enough to run around and catch one of my chickens. but the perdisone gave her really bad diarhrra so they switched her to rymidal and that has worked on her pain but has not helped her movment like the peridsone did. she has stoped trying to get on the couch and will lay down were ever her legs give out. the vet said that she has sacrial arthritis. and told me to put her on an arthrits supplment with atlest 1,000mg of chordrtion and glocusmine(sp). any body have any good recomendations?

I just had a post on something similar to this. The recommendations I received were:

Springtime Inc's Fresh Factors/Joint Health
Human grade glucosamine
Arthriease Gold
Missing Link Plus
Synovi G3 Soft Chews (amazon.com had the cheapest price on these that I found)
glucosamine and ester C with a dermaxx
Apple Cider Vinegar

There are also many posts against Rimadyl for problems it can cause in dogs.

Remember - one dog may do well on one supplement but may not do well on another - all dogs are different.

i think im going to take her off the rymidal she just dosent seem to be doing good at all on it. at 1st she perked up with it and started moving around more but shes not moving any better now she just wants to lay on the floor. she has been on it for a week now. mybe we should put her back on the predisone. i wonder if they can lower the dose so that it wont give her diarreha.
anyone ever use flex-pet?

I just posted a post the other day about Arnica and dogs - you may look into this for pain management, but it might not be strong enough.

Before Dusty went to The Bridge, her vet prescribed rymidal, which I totally refused to give her. Instead he told me I could give her a plain old buffered aspirin.
