Common ear issues

I notice my red heeler X is scratching his ear alot lately.

What are common issues dogs have with their ears?

Thanks in advance!

Take a look inside. When is the last time you cleaned them?

Could easily be an infection. Not all infections in the ear smell, so you will have to take a peek inside and if you see black 'wax', take him to the vet for some meds.

Ear infections are quite common - ear wax buildup - ear mites

Could be a number of things.

Bacterial, fungal, yeast, parasites, abnormal skin growth, tumor, hair impactions, foreign objects, or sheer dirt- all can cause itching and scratching.

Clean it really well with a mild ear cleanser and then if it continues it may be vet time.
