I need rescue Info

Does anyone know how I would find a rescue in Nashville,TN for a lab mix puppy I have called several places and they are all full. My friend is moving and can't take the dog with her and is running out of time. I thought about taking the dog myself but I have my hands full already.

Maybe she could try putting an ad in the local paper and find her a home that way.

An add in the paper is a great idea. If she were to put in a shelter her chances are much higher for getting adopted but that doesnt make it ok. A shelter in my opinion isnt even an option but they are running out of time...i would post papers all around town with their number on it and a picture of the baby. Good chances that way too. Really hope he finds a home.

for a while I think I found at least a stray a week. I found a jack russel by almost running over her brung her home gave her 2 baths cause there was magots on her. then I found some type of bird dog she was full blooded had no problem funding her a home I would laeve the house and make it 2 months and find a dog.

I went to http://www.petfinder.org and entered information to find local shelters. You can enter what you are looking for if you want it restricted to one breed but I didn't.

You can click on Humane Society name and see a bunch they have available but they have more than they show.

That's where I got Mike and he wasn't listed yet and I was really surprised how many really wonderful ones they had.

Be aware, thought, that dogs may end up there for no good reason or because of some problem they owner couldn't manage.

In case of Mike, he had been well trained and socialized but I suspect they had messed up on housetraining so he would hide to do it and then run and hide when you found it for fear of punishment and he was afraid to do it outside in front of you.

He was smart and it didn't take long to get him over it and it has been five days since he has "had an accident" and I've had a bowel movement inside to clean up.
