Is it too late to spay my dog>

    Hi all,

I hope I can get some answers to my question.

I wanted to know if it is too late to spay my dog? She had a litter delivered on 1-20-05 and I'm starting to see some seasonal behavior on my dogs.

I have a male and a female Husky.

    Thanks

I'm not an expert, but I believe if she has regular 6 month cycles then she'd go
into season again 4 months after whelping. Dax & Countryside BR are good to ask tho.

    Thanks,

I also call my Vet's office. They said it should be OK.

You can get her spayed now. I would not wait too much later as she might come back into heat within a couple of months.

Getting her spayed will make her healthier and a better companion dog.

BTW welcome to the forum. You had puppies in January so do you have some cutie pie pictures to show us?

You can spay during her cycle.. it's just not recommended. Their organs are swollen and tend to bleed more. But anytime is a good time to spay! I think vets would rather your consider spaying and make an appointment then postpone it any longer! Either way, I'm glad you called!

[I]Anytime would be a great time to Spay her. Dogs are becoming extremly popular. I wouldn't breed them again. Spay her whenever you feel like it is nessesary. It is better for the population anyhow.
Animals are a Wonder. I just want to get into their heads to see what they are thinking. I often have times when I stay home and pretend to be a animal to get a glimps of what it is like.
