Question barfs Beneful but keeps down Diamond?

don't know id this is the correct place to post this but i wolud like to know something.

Now i know Beneful isn't a good food and only gets 1 star on the dog food analysis site but i wont be able to switch to a better food till march when i'm done moving.

He is not able to keep the beneful down...10-20 minutes after he eats some of the beneful he throws it up. But he'll happily eat 6 to 7 cups of the Diamond Hi-Energy a day and is fine and doesn't throw it up.

now i'm wondering if he tummy is sensetive to the beneful and can't handle it?? and if so, the Diamond must be gentler on his system as he keeps it down.

I took him to the vet on the 11th and he's 100% ok and bloodwork is fine.

So is he just sensetive to the Beneful and can't handle it or what? i am planning to switch him to the Diamond Naturals Large Breed 60+ which is a 3 star food soon as the Hi-Energy is for my other dog and he doesn't really need the extra calories.

Thanks in advance.

I am not familiar with Diamond but I am with Beneful...unfortunetly. Our puppy wasn't keen on it and started having slight stomach problems too. We took her off and she immediatly got better. There's alot of good threads on here about food. I just asked a similar question too. We have her on Nutro large breed puppy and want to change it to something alot better.

A dog can absolutely be sensitive to certain foods/ingredients over others.

Diamond 60 plus is not that bad considering Beneful is low food on the totem poll. I know a breeder/owner/handler that feeds her dogs Diamond 60 plus and she has beautiful healthy dogs.

I'd barf up Beneful to.

I've fed Diamond for many years and never had an issue with it. Diamond Hi-Energy isn't the best out there but it is lots better than Beneful.

the reason we feed beneful at all is because of an older very picky silky terrier we have that absolutely refuses to eat any type of dog food besides beneful she actually lost like 2lbs when we tried to switch her to something better cause she refused to eat it.

i am going to switch to Eagle Pack soon as i've found that the old dog will actually likes the Duck and Oatmeal formula.

and i'm also going to switch out the Hi-Energy for the Extreme Athlete and going to give the 60+ to the big dog who this thread is about and both the EA and 60+ are 3 star foods
