Is this a breed?
Ever since I got Furbee as a stray from a dog shelter, emaciated, covered with fleas and ticks, tips of her ears scabbed over with flybites, I always assumed she was a mutt--perhaps a Basenji mix of some sort. Until I saw her clone on TV. I swear, the dog looked EXACTLY like Furbee! Even the way it sat in its owner's arms was reminiscent of Furbee. Unfortunately, I never got to hear what breed it was. Since then, I've been wondering--is Furbee actually a breed of dog?
Furbee is a small dog, about 15-20 pounds. She is muscular and proportionately built--except for her ears, which are almost ridiculously large. She is fawn colored, with a fairly short tail that she holds in a loose curl over her back. Her forehead wrinkles slightly when she perks her ears foreward. She also has a personality that is absolutely to DIE for!!! However, she is an excellent hunter, and, despite her small size, has managed to catch at least 2 full-grown rabbits in my backyard with amazing efficiency. Here's a few pics: ![]()

I see alot of Corgi, the ears are a definite
![]() I second the call for a body shot. You can tell alot from stance, body/leg length, tail (length, fur and how it's carried)... |

Sometimes you see dogs that look a lot alike. They could be the same mixes, etc....
I've seen a few dogs that look exactly like mine and I know she's mixed. Yours definately looks like it's got some corgi ears, though! Do you call him Bat Dog?

I dunno...she's way too tall and thin to be a corgi. Will try to get a body shot.

A lot of the primitive dog breeds have erect ears.... a better picture of the whole body, maybe standing up would help a lot....
Here's some pictures of Cardigan Welsh Corgi's. You can see the ear shape is exactly the same, maybe your dog is mixed with a taller breed and got the ears of the corgi? See how they're rounded? http://www.dogpage.us/images/cardigan-welsh-corgi.jpg http://www.pats-pets.com/rassen/wels...i/Carwche4.jpg http://www.viarural.com.ar/viarural....cardigan01.jpg |
