jealous pooping

My 5 year old mini schnauzer has some emotional issues. Mainly my boyfriend's 3 year old daughter. Max(my dog) poops in front of our bedroom door, next to the kids little table and in front of the front door(inside) every time my boyfriend's daughter comes over. He has also been peeing in front of our bedroom door. Does anyone have any advice on how to break him of these jealous outbursts?

I know all about jealous outbursts! I have a doxie-poo (Fluke) who was having jealousy issues at the beginning of this winter. Our other dog - a Lab (Daisy) - was getting more attention due to the snow (Daisy loves snow, but Fluke doesn't). We were taking Daisy out to play with us quite a bit more than normal and Fluke began peeing ON my bed. Took a couple weeks to figure out that it was a jealousy issue.

Our cure was just more attention. My suggestion is to just make sure the little girl gives your dog attention and make sure your dog knows you still love him/her. Also, if you're sitting with or giving the daughter attention make sure to include the dog.

We had a WONDERFUL beloved Schnauzer named Tootsie. She was a GREAT dog! But only to the family. Bring new people into the family & it would take her a long time to like them etc. She would just keep her distance. Sort of like a snob! I would say even more so with children because they are so active & sometimes loud. Have her give treats & such. That might help but closely monitor! Good luck
