Dislocated Toe
My dog has repeatedly had a dislocated middle toe. My vet would like to preform a operation which involves plating and four screws. Instead of just amputating the toe.
 . Anybody heard of this operation as I have looked all over the internet and couldn't find anything?. Thanks

Daphney has a dislocated toe also.She had it stuck in a crate when she was little.It pops in and out all by itself.Sometimes if we are at a show and it pops out I pull it back into place.
No big deal.She is 7 and still going even with her sometimes funny toe..

Every time the toe dislocates she yelps out in pain and the more the toe is becoming damaged its effecting her quality of life. And I hate to see her in pain. she is also only two years of age. We have tried vet wrap on two different occasions, and it has been unsuccessful.

Hudson dilocated his toe nail....we ended up having to completly remove it....it was like when you de-claw a cat...he took the first joint out.
Surgery was easy peasy, they even let me be there for it, he didnt need a general they just had to sedate him. I think it would be better for both of you just to remove the toe...IMO

That's kind of cool, gross but cool. Hmm, I must be weird. Hudson is ok now with no middle first joint? How does one dislocate a toe nail?
