So a few weeks ago I went up to the horse rescue I volunteer with, and I saw a dog chained up outside a house. A few hours later when I drove back passed the house, the dog wasn't there. The house didn't have a fenced yard so I assumed he was just out there temporarily.
So I see this dog for a few weeks, sometimes there are 2 dogs. Both are Great Pyrenees. Sometimes they are on the chain, sometimes they aren't.
Well about 2 weeks ago, I was shocked. I saw 5-6 Great Pyrenees dogs at that house, in cages, outside, no shelter. They are *always* outside. I think they are breeders. They are always outside barking when I drive by. Sometimes they are chained, sometimes they are in the cages.
They look okay, but I'm not very close to see them. I've seen the owner come out and the dogs barking. I really feel bad for the dogs. They are BIG dogs and are being kept in cages doing nothing all day.
It seriously was like a population explosion or something. There were just 2 dogs tied on a chain, and then 5-6 full grown dogs appear out of nowhere. They must've been kept in the back where I couldn't see them.
So what should I do? Who should I call? I'm afraid if I call the shelter or something, the dogs will be in danger of getting euthanized, and I'd feel terrible if that happened!
The dogs are still there, last time I checked, 5-6 of them, very beautiful, vocal, purebred (it looks like) dogs. Should I get pictures?
Thanks in advance for any advice you have for me!!
