Harley to the surgeon tomorrow

My big boy turnt 10 yrs past Feb. I took him to get a full exam. Make a long story short, he has to have surgery on his knee. He had his 1 knee opporated on in 2004 and now his other is bad.

I am just anctious right now. His blood work didn't go to well. His kidneys are abnormal. We have been through 2 antibiotics already. And follow up bloodwork stays the same.

Please wish us luck!!

If the bloodwork did not come back well why is the vet going for the surgery?

Anyway....Our thoughts, prayers and drools are with both of you tomorrow.

I meant his bloodwork from vet didn't come back good. When I took him for full exam and they did blood it told about kidney enzynes being abnormal. He was on clavamox for 2 weeks. I took him back after 2 weeks. The blood was still the same so we changed it to amoxillin'

My mission was to get his organs normal before surgery.

The appointment with Jankowshi is tomorrow anyway! I just want my boy to be here longer!!

HHMM, where to start. We had the consultation with the ortho surgeon. He wasn't happy with the 2 bouts of bloodwork so he did more plus the rays on his knee. He also said the knee that got operated on in 2004 is worse off so they might do it again but the first problem has to be taken care of is his kidney problem. He wouldn't want him to put him under with a main organ not well. Which is what I said to begin with. I wanted that stuff better before any surgery. The first antibiotic didn't work so hopefully the sencond one has. He's gonna call me tomorrow with those results. I asked him what would cause kidney failure since I have never experiensed this and he said it could just be of getting old. The poor guy even had to have a cathitor for urin test!

I feel good about this Doc because he has operated on Sahra Jane and my Maggie. It just sux now cause just with Harley, $1,200.00 later and we still don't know what's going on. Thank you VPI!!!

It was such a long day for both of us. An hour drive each way, my back is on fire. Harley is passed out, the other kids are finally winding down. I am taking a perc and taking a nap!!!!

We will see what happens tomorrow when Doc calls!!

Poor Harley! I hope they get this kidney issue resolved so he can have his knee surgery. The recovery off knee surgery is no picnic either. You know what I went through with Bogey.

Will say a prayer for Harley!

How could the knee that was operated on in 2004 be worse unless it was a botched up job. I do like the sound of this vet though. He is being very thorough.....and do you really have VPI insurance?
