What is this weird growth?

I discovered this "growth" on my Emma. It looks exactly like a large raisin. I just found this a few weeks ago, and been meaning to ask you all and see if anyone may know what this is. Emma goes to the vet every 6 months because she is heartworm positive. Do you think this has anything to do with her condidtion?

If it's hard like a toe nail, a keratinous horn, I believe.
Random growth of no significance.
Have it looked at next time you are in of course, but this is my guess.

If it is soft I'd go sooner.

Thanks. I will research that. I'm sure you are right on, like always. She goes back in 3 months to get another pack of HW meds and a check up, I will have them look at it. Thanks alot.

I am going with what Cearbhaill said it is also. They will just give him/her a local anesthetic like dormitor to make him/her sleepy and then they will use a local freezing around it and either koterize? (spelling is wrong) or use a scapel blade. You will either have 2-3 stickes or a small-medium size burn spot. It is not painful and she wont feel it. But I think you are looking at a couple hundred dollars to get it removed....hope this helps.. My old boy had one to and I had them removed quickly and pain free No worries on this growth

I will talk with my vet about this, but if he thinks it is not causing a problem I will just leave it there. She is 8/9 and HW positive, she is responding to what treatment we are doing now and I don't want to put her through something that could be unecessary. She is EXTREMELY fearful and they always muzzle her and it is just stressful enough, if you know what I mean.

If she was younger, of course I would do it without even thinking about it. Thanks for your advice, if she needs it done, I know it won't be anything to worry about.
