Question Pregnany Questions.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question. My girl Lilly is due in about 16 days and yesterday she vomited up a little amount of bile is this normal? I can't remember if it happened last time. Also today I went to touch her stomach (very gently) and she let out a little yelp. Is this just because she's getting tender around that area?

Thanks,

Lilly's_owner

I'm anxious for the answer too.
Sharon seems to be uncomfortable with us feeling her belly.
Either that or she is sick of it! No **** here tho.

She could be experiencing pressure from the pups.

I believe it is recommended to start feeding smaller amounts more often. One time is likely nothing to worry about but if it keeps happening - call your vet.

Thanks Dax!!
She isn't yelping when I touch her stomach now but she did sigh.
I feed her 2 meals a day - I'll make it into 4 small meals now. She doesn't want as much and she even refused her fish and vegetables yesterday which is very unusual for her. She hasn't been sick again so I'm hoping it'll stay that way.

If I were in your shoes - I'd have my vet's number memorized. Don't be afraid to phone them up and ask lots of questions. They are a doctor after all.

I remember how bad I felt pregnant - it is likely as uncomfortable (more so) for them.

I have my vet’s number stored on my mobile phone. I also have the emergency vet’s number stored.

I'm lucky because I live near both of them.

I can tell that Lilly is getting uncomfortable - she moves around heaps before finding a way to lay that is comfortable for her plus she misses going for long walks so I make sure she goes for about 10-20 minutes each morning (depending on how she's feeling) and I carry her the rest of the way. Luckily she doesn't have much longer to go I know she'll be way happier once the pups are here. She loved her babies last time and this time she keeps finding things to mother like the cat or one of her Bichon friends plus she has been cuddling her teddy bear heaps.

it is normal both....zoe right now and at that time was very senseitive when it came to touching her belly... vet said it is both the pups and her teats...im assuming by now sharon and lilly are starting to get some milk in there and girls if you have been pregnant before you KNOW how much it hurts sometimes to have them touched...and the bial thing its a late case of morning sickness zoe has it right now as we speak!!! our poor poor little girls...i remember the morning sickness days im soooooooo glad they are gone!!

Thanks Jenny!

I have no idea how Lilly's feeling but I can quite imagine!

I'm glad to hear that the vomiting doesn't mean anything. I always thought that the morning sickness only happened in the first few weeks but I've just been reading a breeding book and they said the same thing as you.

I can't remember Lilly being sick in the late stages last time but I've forgotten some of the details. This time I'm keeping a daily record of everything she's going through!
