A really gross question for Konadog or anyone else who might know

I switched Theodore to N.R.G dehydrated raw food about 9 days ago now, he loves it but I've noticed the last couple of days his poop is bigger and it looks like it is full of barley. Thats the best I can describe it, or maybe small puffwheat ceral. Is this from the food or could it be something else??? It was never there before.

Would appreciate any suggestions!

You could run a sample over to the vet to have it looked at...

This might be really too gross for people, but maybe take a picture and post it....maybe someone can identify the little white things...I personally will skip that thread

lol I was gonna do that to start with but really wanted an answer to my question and didn't want to turn anyone away with a pic!!! That would be realllllly gross, the things we would consider doing when it comes to our pets!!! If I did take some to the vets , it is a hour drive, do I need to keep it fresh? if so how do I store it?

Whenever I have to store poop for the vet they reccommend keeping it in the fridge!!! You can keep it up to 24 hours before the sample is no good anymore. Just get an empty pill container and scoop some in there then put it in a paperbag or something that you can label DO NOT EAT, and in the fridge it goes!!

Just make sure you dont let anyone eat it!! I have had to do this for the cats when the vet wanted a feacle(sp?) sample...I would chase them down, watch them poop then scare them out of the litter box before they could cover it up, then I would scoop the poop and put it in the fridge till the next morning when I could get it to the vets.

HM - you're making yourself sound like the crazy-poop-lady . Poor cats, they've just pottied and then you have to try to scare more out of 'em!

I agree - take it to the vet to make sure.
