Why Do They Eat Grass?

Ok, Diesel and Sola go nuts in this one field we walk through. Both have their heads down grazing like HORSES through it.

WHY!? are they lacking something?

I know sometimes dogs will eat grass to throw up, but neither ever get sick/seem sick/ throw up.

Neither of them get any sort of grains. They eat very little fruit, as If I mix too much in their food they won't eat it.

Could they be lacking fiber or something along those lines?

Egads....I have one that eats grass and vomits. I have one that eats grass and has explosive poop. The other two will not eat grass at all. I don't get the grass thing either.

See, I always thought they ate it to induce throwing up, or whatever. Sola did this once, and threw up a peice of her wubba.

But they eat like crazy in this field, it's almost embarassing. Both walk well on leads but Im dragging them to get them to move when they are in the grass!!! It's like a little herd of cows.

We have grass, or we did (lol) in our yard at home. Maybe this stuff tastes better?

Maia loves grazing when she goes out. But it is only one type of grass in our backyard that she looks for and then eats. I guess one type tastes better than another. Silly pups!

It is spring and the new tender shoots of grass taste good.
They do it all the time, but you'll see it most often in the spring hen te grass is new, and soft.
I was training the other night, and left my dog in a down stay to help a student out and I looked around, and he was still in the stay, but on his side wiggling, and chomping new grass, and havig the best time.
