Exclamation Animal Shelter expecting over 50 newborns.

So I stopped by my local animal shelter the other day and was taking a peek around at all the sweet dogs, cats, bunnies, and other various critters. Donated some blankets, and dog food.

Come to find out they are expecting more then 28 new born puppies from all of the pregnant female mother dogs in that joint. This one shocked me most of...the cats! OMG They have guessed over 50 some odd kittens.

Granted we all know that not all of them will live, but I was taken back. I didnt know what to think or say. Im angry that there are so many selffish and careless pet owners out there. GRRRRRRR!

Unfortunately im not surpirsed, people just dont seem to give a **** anymore. Shame on them though because every one of those little critters will make such wonderful pets and light up someones life....
only bad thing i can think of.....
shame that all the older animals lives will likely be put on hold.

I feel sorry for your shelter.

The shelter that i got my cats from were flooded with new born kittens. They were so full that if someone were to dump a dog or a cat to them they have to turn them away just because there is no room at all. Putting an animal to sleep is the last thing on their minds.

Unfortunately when they're full like that people turn around and dump their cats and dogs in farms.

Around here there are sooooo many kittens & cats dumped if every family adopted 2 there would still be plenty to go around! In fact I can't think of a single family in town who dosn't have at least one.(smaaallllll town though)

Sounds like the shelter in my area. We can only house a certain number of animals at a time and unfortunately we do not turn any animals away and we even take up to 50 animals from other shelters in cities close to us including nunavut. We had 86 cats stacked in rabbit cages along the sides of the walls 3-4 rabbit cages high because last summer was ridiculous. I am glad our shelter is building a new 13 million dollar shelter because the living conditions are getting worse every year because unfortunately half of the staff working there has no clue how to care for animals and they are only there for the money.

Tis the season of puppies and kittens.

I wish things were more under control and the numbers were much less.
