Just bought a 6weeks old male bulldog who's just the cutest! when we got him, he was all shy and meek, maybe just probably tired from the drive. But the next day, we noticed his obsession on nipping everything in sight, particularly our fingers toes and pants. The problem is, whenever we say no with a firm finger on his face, he growls and starts bar!He growls whenever he doesnt get his way! I've tried introducing him to my shih tzu and he nips him quite hard that they always end up barking and growling at eachother! What can i do stop this puppy growling which i know can definitely lead to aggression if not corrected. also, are bulldogs really temperamental?

well for one thing, a 6 week old should still be with it's pack members and mother to learn good doggie manners, Since you have him, it sounds like he is making up his own rules as he hasn't learned from others just WHAT is acceptable.
A good teacher is usually an older tolerant dog who will teach a puppy the ropes by also correcting bad behaviors. Your shih tzu hasn't got a chance.
I imagine bulldogs CAN be temperamental, that's probably why they are sometimes referred to as bullheaded LOL
I would seek out a trainer/behaviorist to give you some good tips on how to correct the behaviors before he gets bigger and decides to put a whooping on your shih tzu. Someone who can come into your home and see first hand the behaviors.

Sadly, we dont have obedience trainers here in our country. The only trainers we have here are for watch dogs or for K9 units. i guess i just have to read on metrial to get myself aquainted with training tips and all. Thanks so much for the info though.
