Omnitrol for fleas and ticks?

My vet just sent me a friendly reminder that Orson is due for his check up.
On the bottom of the reminder it is highlighted "NEW AFFORDABLE OMNITROL FOR FLEAS AND TICKS."

Has anyone every tried this or heard of it? We have always used Frontline.

Vectra replaced ProMeris. They were having a few pups with bad side effects, so they stopped making it. Vectra is good, but it's about $50 for a 3 month supply for small dogs.

Here is what I found on the internet, I have never heard of this before. \

OmniTrol Spot On for Dogs

For use on Dogs & Puppies over 12 weeks of age

• Kills, repels and prevents re-infestation of fleas for up to 5 weeks.

• Kills flea eggs and larvae for up to 8 weeks.

• Breaks the flea life cycle.

• Kills, repels and prevents re-infestation of ticks for up to 6 weeks.

• Kills or repels mosquitoes, lice and mites on dogs for up to 4 weeks.

EPA Registration No. 75844-8-81021 EPA Establishment No. 75844-CA-02

Contains Permethrin for quick, long lasting kill and repelling action

Contains Pyriproxyfen (IGR) to break life cycles of many insects

Omnitrol collects in oil glands of pets skin and becomes contained in the hair of the pet – is not absorbed into the bloodstream

Thanks Ali. From what I saw on one site they were charging something like 14.99 for XL dogs. I wonder it that goes by weight like the other flea and tick meds do. I know with 3 of mine I have to give them two applications due to their size. I wonder if this OmniTrol is used the same way.

It is strange, the site only had this information:
Puppies, Toy & Small Dogs less than 33 lbs Apply 1.35 cc of OmniTrol™ Spot-On for Dogs Plus IGR to the skin of the dog's back between the shoulder blades.

What about our large dogs?
