Uti?

So I posted earlier this week asking for tips on puppy constipation... Well I'm not sure if I was reading the signs wrong or if this is one problem after another or if they're related, but now she seems to have to symtoms of an UTI. Acorn is 3 1/2 months now and for the past few days she seems to be peeing Alot. When walking she'll stop at least every block and urinate, usually a pretty good amount at first, but then slows down to a few drops towards the end. She doesn't whine to go outside more than normal, but when we do go she pees multiple times. I'm confused about whether or not she's simply marking her territory or if this is an infection, because she doesn't seem to be in pain and doesnt Have to go out frequently. But while walking she will forcefully stop and pee, Everywhere.

I called the vet today, unfortunaltey she wont be able to get in until Monday. So I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this problem. I've been giving her 1/2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar once a day for 3 days now, I've read its a good home remedy for UTI's in dogs and people. I've also read about citrus juices being beneficial, but I'm not sure where to start with them. Any advice?

Thanks for all the advice everyone, this website has been amazing for tips and hearing 1st hand experiences. I really appreciate all the help.

I know that when I had a collie with it, they went in the house as well. There was no control of it what so ever. It could be just marking especially if you are walking her in new area? But I think it is wise you are taking her to the vet just in case.

With pets with UTIs, we see some of the following signs:
  • Excessive water consumption
  • Urinating only small amounts at a time
  • Urinating frequently and in multiple spots
  • Inability to hold urine the normal amount of time/apparent incontinence
  • Bloody urine (though an infection must either involve a special organism, a bladder stone, a bladder tumor, or be particularly severe to make urine red to the naked eye)

We just went through a UTI with one of my females. The only way I can tell if my female has a UTI is the way one of my males act, because he thinks she is in heat and jumps all over her.

It's hard to say with your pup because she is so young. Have you had her spayed? If so, it could be incontinence. I think you are doing the right thing in taking her to the vet Monday. She may be just peeing and marking like you said. At this young age she may also be trying to please you with voiding so much. When you go to the vet Monday, see if you can get a urine sample so the vet can run a check just to make sure.

My female had chronic UTI's for years. We even had 2 appesioplastamies(SP) When you go to the vet do 1 of 2 things do not let her pee before hand and when you get there ask for a sample cup run out and collect some pee or 2 use a Tupperware container to collect it

Good....nothing like displaying symptoms right in front of the vet! hahahaha. Just make sure you finish all her meds. If not, that UTI will probably be back within a couple of weeks.
