Thumbs down He eat a caterpillar! and why I want NO more carpet!

Stupid dog!
We are officially over come by these black/yellow/blue/orange/green patterned caterpillars. They've eaten out the ENTIRE front hill facing our house!

Well, I haven't taken Jinjo out for a good hard run in the field/woods for a few days, its become such a mucky mess with all the rain! So, I decided to let him play rope. Yeah, I grab it and right there is one of those nasty things. I brought my foot up and was about to squish it off, and Jinjo jumped up. As he clamped his teeth down, it fell to the back of his mouth! He chocked on it and as I was hoping he would cough it up, he looked at me with that dumb smile of his... Gone. All I could do was hope it wouldn't kill him, but of coarse he got sick on the master bed room carpet squares around 4AM. So, I know now, they won't kill a dog (maybe if they eat enough though), but what a freak thing. I even "Ahhah"ed him to stop playing, but he's been having obedience lapses the past few weeks.

I got out the green machine this morning though, and as much of his mess as I got out, that carpet is totaled! Its old, VERY vintage! But GAH! the filth thats built up, even after getting the Dyson. Please, just give me a 5in1, I'll rip it out myself! Absolutely NO, 0, zip, nada, carpeting EVER again!!!

Good idea. My moto is the same thing. I will never have carpet or even real hardwood in my apartment, house etc ever again. Well as long as I will own animals which will be forever. I honestly like the vinyl flooring. The dogs toe nails do not scratch it or put gouges in it, Vomit, Urine, Diarrhea etc does not ruin it and it actually looks like real hardwood or tile in your apartment or house. I think it's the best way to go with animals. Vintage carpet. Holey that must be old may I ask what colour it is? Usually I always hear of the pink or the green vintage... LOL Catipillars are nasty also

I only have carpet in the bedrooms, there is tile throughout the house and would not have it any other way. Just don't be foolish like me and get white tile!

LOL, those caterpillars are EVERYWHERE. Thankfully, my morons haven't eaten any. At least Jinjo is okay. Carpet is bad. BAD for dog owners. LOL.

Actually, I'm an avid Vinyl protester. I'm SO mad at my parents for putting down more in the bathrooms after taking out the old (and then trying to cover it up by saying they bought linoleum... NO, I know that smell like the back of my hand!).
Just look up "Phthalates", you'll see why.

And these in the room, are carpet squares. They are gray with blue mini squares on them except the border, all gray. They came as easy to put in squares with sticky back, instead of rolling out a full carpet. They actually have come back into fashion lately... although not this color (gee, wouldn't know why). Not sure when these were put down really, but early 80's est. It use to be in the living room and mudroom also! BLAH!
Dang, theres a picture of it some where here, I'll see if I can dig it up.

... Nope, not a fan of white here. We're all "classic country".
We only actually have two rooms and the stairs left carpet. Just... The one room with carpet just has to be where Jinjo sleeps at night, go figure.

He's completely fine this morning other than a little groggy cause I gave him a Benedril last night because my mother was fretting over him getting sick again. No, I think it was mostly the caterpillar. And hopefully he wont get another one again!

I LOVE my carpet but it is CONSTANT WORK! It gets vacuumed at least twice a day. If there is a small spot, out comes my Little green machine.....big spot, here comes the steam machine.

My husband refinished our hard wood floors about 6 years ago. With Vanilla and Oso the floors held up fine until the heavy water and drool set in with my OEM's. Every floor in this house was RUINED and I do mean RUINED!

Gag, gag, gag! Talk about those critters being disgusting...I dog-sit a 15 y/o Bassett with a penchance for dead mice and chipmonks (sp)! Oh Gag Me!!

We have a very tough tile down in our place (not Vinyl...not sure what it is). At first I hated it, thenI saw the practicality of it and have adapted.

... Why I always specify in a sentence "I love my tall big dogs"... sorry, not much into the wide big dogs. Although, bite my tung, I'll grab a Newf in two secs if I could! I LOVE to cuddle with them the most at shows, LOVE them.

How bout for cast iron? HA, the #1 floor concern in our house, forget the dog it just needs to be "dropped on" proof. Personally, for the kitchen right now my mother wants cork... Not sure about it 100% we'll see (still need to put the ceiling back up).

And also today, new problem. GAH! this dog has driven me to wits end like no other! It started raining good yesterday evening and through early this morning... He NEVER poops in the rain! ... So I got even and with held his breakfast. I wasn't about to let him hold it that long and add more fuel to his rocket, he has held it so long in the past he HAS exploded. Not fun to clean.
Thankfully, he did go in the middle of the night so it wasn't that long, and then went after I came home this afternoon and it wasn't runny, so he got supper.

Oh, and not a great picture, but this is the upstairs carpet where he sleeps every night (and has nailed about 20 dozen times from all ends throughout his life):

Purrty Ain't it?
