a dogs temp?

ok at about 10:00pm i took zoe's temp i took it twice the first time it was 98.2 then the second was 98.3 then about 30 minutes later i took it again for peace of mind(poor girl) it was 98.5...now i was wondering does that mean anything like i was wrong she isnt going to whelp yet, or is it ok as long as it stays in the lower 98's?

Well, of course she's uncomfortable...you keep sticking that thermometer in her ....

The thermometer theory never works for me! Maybe you're going to one that it doesn't work for either? I know it's hard to wait, but I think your best bet would be to just let her be for a few days (you know, look but don't touch ) and see what happens. She can go as far as 67 days and still be ok. Anytime after that and you'll need to get her in for a c-section.

It didn't work that well for Lilly last time either! It was low the day before but then it went right again and on the actual day it was a bit lower but not that much. But then again she still ate right up until she had them too and my vet said that hardly ever happens.
Anyway I hope Zoe's OK today and that she has a happy first birthday!!

I've had them eat while they were in labor as well! Carver's 1st litter she had right in our bed! We went to bed for the night (they sleep in our beds...under the covers, of course!) and she was doing a lot of licking. I just assumed she was cleaning up for bed. After awhile it was getting annoying, so I went down by her to push her head away from her licking and felt a warm wet puppy! Talk about jumping out of bed! But getting back to the point, yeah, she never gave any sign that she was in labor...just started delivering them!

I wish they'd just stick to the text books and do it like they're supposed to!! It would make our lives so much easier, wouldn't it?

LOL I can just imagine Lilly giving birth in bed. I'd almost have a heart attack!
It would be much easier if they stuck to the text books. Even Lilly's pregnancy isn't going like my books say it's meant to. According to one book Lilly shouldn't get any milk until the 11th of May and she's already had it for about a week!!
