Spots?

Poppy has two pus filled spots near one of her nipples and they look very sore as they are red around the edges. They were tiny this morning but now they are almost 1/4 inch big. If I had these myself I would lance them, drain out the pus and apply an antiseptic cream but should I do this for her or should I leave them alone - I don't want to hurt her.

Even without expelling them, you might just apply some antiseptic for now. They will drain themselves sooner or later. As always, keep monitoring to see if she gets more or if they start to heal. I assume you have no idea how she got them? Could be caused by just about anything, including bug bites, plants, or simply infected hair follicles.

Max once sat his fat butt right into some poison ivy - I spare you the details of what that looked like and what the treatment involved...

Ouch, poor Max... nope, I've no idead how she got them, she doesn't have any hair around there so I don't think it's infected follicles and I don't recall her getting in to anything she shouldn't have on our walks but it could have been a bite I guess.

Poor Poppy is being checked on the hour every hour so there's no chance of anything happening to them without me knowing - LOL.

This sound like a reasonable course of action. Getting them draining will be less painful than leaving them to grow. If they continue to spread (More appearing) I woud think she's gotten something on her skin perhaps lawn fertilizer or the like.

It could be the her nipple is infected and will need antibiotics and that the cream won't do it. I had one that had an infected nipple and we treated it for a week and it didn't get any better. Then we did a biopsy on it for cancer and put him back on a different antibiotic...the biop. came back neg. and the 2nd treatment cleared it up...it's best to have it checked out.
