    Some Rare and Very Strange Dog Breeds!

    Ok, well, it's about time I posted a few more dog breeds.
    These are all very rare and mostly unheard of!
    So enjoy looking at these puppers!

    Tamaskan Dog

    a wolflike dog obviously related to the Wolf.
    copied from Wikepedia. ->
    The Tamaskan dog is a breed of dogoriginating from Finland known to excel in agility, obedience and working trials, along with its ability to pull sleds due to its Husky and Malamute ancestors. Morphologically, it is the most wolf-like dog with no recent wolf ancestry. A slowly increasing interest in the breed has resulted in the importation of Tamaskans in continental Europe, the UK and the USA, largely due to the efforts of The Tamaskan Register, the official registering body.The Tamaskan Dog is not to be confused with the Tamaskan Wolfdog which is not a pure breed of dog but a collection of crossbreeds with a similar look.

    Altdeutscher Schäferhund
    Old German Shepherd Dog.

    This dog is the forbearer of the modern GSD and it has it's own standard in Europe.

    The Old German Shepherd Dog has longer hair and it is often used for herding, like the GSD was bred for.
    It is different to the longhair GSD.

    More soon!
    Coming.....the
    Norrbottenspets......
    and....
    hopefully the Chilean Terrier!
    Mandy, Zacky, Milly, Kimbi, Maisy, MR. Darcy, Caramel, Dixie, Boof, Cookie, Buttspott, Minnie, Prince and Queenie ~ I love you all.

    It is kind of like the working BC's.They are bred because they can herd.
    They date back to before the GSD standard.

    Ok, well, glad you guys liked those mutters!

    Now we have.......

    Chilean Fox Terrier
    (Or Chilean Rat Terrier)

    copied from Wikepedia->
    The Chilean Fox Terrier has black and tan spots on a white fur, it is short-haired and has a grey undercoat which lets some dark spots visible on the white cover coat. The ears are set high, falling upwards in the form of a "V". Well-developed teeth, scissor bite. The Chilean Fox Terrier is easy to train, active, affective, and one of the healthiest and cleanest dog breeds.

    copied from Absoluteastronomy.com->

    The Chilean Fox Terrier, also known as Ratonero (rat hunter) or Chilean Rat Terrier, is the first Chilean Dog breed. (there was more there, but for some reasonb it didn't work. rr.)

    from me-> =) (The Chilean Fox Terrier is a lot like the Rat Terrier-but it is not the same breed.
    It is also a seperate breed to the Ratero Adulaz, another ratting Terrier.)

    +++++++

    Norrbottenspets
    (Norbotten Spitz)

    Copied form Canasdog.com->
    Hailing from Sweden, the Norrbottenspets is a member of the Spitz family of dogs. Originally used to hunt small game and as an all-purpose farm dog, today this dog is mostly bred to be an affectionate companion. The Norrbottenspets excels at a type of hunting called tree barking and is therefore a very vocal animal!
    Similar in appearance to the Finnish Spitz and the Norwegian Lundehund, the Norrbottenspets is sometimes referred to as the Nordic Spitz.
    The Norrbottenspets comes in various colours, the most common is red & white, or fawn & white.

    This link below is a VERY good detailed description by Swedish Norrbottenspets breeders. Worth looking at!
