This is what I use

I find it works very well on Ariel. (rotti). She really enjoys the feel of it.

I got one of those too. We had a slicker brush but Poppy didn't like it she loves the shedding blade though!

I use one of those on Gretta (German Shepherd) too. It works great, but then I go over her with a fine toothed comb to get out more of her undercoat that she's shedding right now. It also gets out any tangles from laying in the grass and having those nasty slugs attach to her fur. The slugs are bad this year in Washington. I look the dogs over EVERY time they want in. Don't want those yucky critters sliming my carpets! (Meaning the slugs, not my beautiful girls).

For my short haired dog, I use clippers and scissors to keep her that way. LOL.

I use a shedding blade on Bailey too. Works better than anything else, and instead of fighting it, she rolls around to make sure we don't miss spots.

I also use a shedding blade on my Rottweiler and Doberman. I also use a slicker for my Rottie during spring and fall to get rid of undercoat. For my Dobie I have a pumice stone I use to get rid of those small fine hairs and go over him with a wet cloth. I also cheat at times and use my high velocity blow dryer made specifically for dogs to get the dead coat out of my Rottie during high shed seasons.
