Unhappy Collie AND possible seizures...

Hi. I have a 6 yr old collie who is experiencing seizure like patterns. She doesn't go unconscious, but her eyes wander like no one is there. Her whole body tenses up and sometimes she rolls on her back. She loses control of her bladder and drools from her mouth. While the whole time shaking. Has anyone experienced this? If so please write me back @ mlssdlphn5@aol.com

Loving Owner,

Melissa

My old cocker spaniel was epilectic.... he had seizures all the time. We used to give him meds from the vet. Have you taken your dog to the vet yet about this?

I have an epileptic dog.....is this her first seizure?? Have you brought her to the vet yet? If/when you go tell the vet everything that you see during the seizure. Including how long it lasts. If possible keep a journal of each seizure.

Here's a link to my thread about my dog Roo and our fight with epilepsy.

Thumbs up Thank you

Hi, my daughter posted, and I just got back to see the post replies.
First of all thank you!
Yes, I have been paying close attention to Rains episodes and will relay them to the Vet.
At first, I had a suspicion they were caused by her heart meds, as they seemed to be comming soon after I gave them to her, within a week or so. But she had one again recently after not having heart meds for about a month.

It came on while my granddaughter was crying, not sure if that upset her and triggered it or what.

It usually starts with her urinating, then she walks around a bit, somtimes vommits....then she gets shaky, and soon after falls to the floor, going into a muscle spasm type affair, arching her back and moaning, legs stiff.
These eppisodes usually last five minutes or so.

Again, I thank you for your posts, I will update when we receive more info from the vet.

My poodle Spike #1 had seizures, at first I thought he was going nuts or something (i was about 10) we took him to the vet and he gave him these pills that we had to gove him Every day. If we forgot he would have a series of seizures, untill we got him to eat the pill witch we could only feed to him in cheese. Because that was the only way he would eat it.

Good luck with your dog,
