Jack's Sick

Jack had diareha yesterday she was acting fine and was eating great. I thought she was fine last night. This morning when we woke up there was poop EVERYWHERE, on her bed on the sheet on the floor on the wall. I said "outside and she ran. It was like she turned on the faucet of brown watery poop. The question is should we feed her just a little or like normal. She has an apetite

Jack could have a bug so stop feeding him for 24 hours then feed him small amounts of food and she how he goes.If the diareha continues take him to the vet and get him checked out.Jack could need a change of diet but i would get a vet check up before talking about that.

I feel so bad for her. She's sitting in her crate being all sick because I have to work. I feel so guilty.

If you feel bad for her maybe take to the vet straight away when you can.

The advice from my vet when Poppy had diarhhea was to reduce the amount of meals that she normally has, so if you are feeding 3 times a day reduce to two and if you are doing two feed two smaller meals. When you do feed give her bland food such as boiled rice and chicken and always make sure there is fresh water available.

I'm sure she will be fine but if she still has it 48 hours after it started then you should take her to the vets. You should also check for dehydration as well and if she does become dehydrated at any point then again it's a vet trip.

Give her hugs from me and Poppy when you get home... and don't feel guilty, dogs can give you the most saddest of looks!

What I do when my dogs experience a bout of diarrhea is to first assume they got into some thing bad. Take the dog off food for 12 hours then slowly give him bland foods such as boiled chicken breast or Hamburg (drain the fat), with some bland white rice (boiled). I give my dogs yogurt with live bacteria cultures to replenish the lost bacteria in the gut. The fasting for 12 hours will give the irritated intestinal tract time to settle.

Always insure your dog has fresh, clean water at all times...be very concerned if your dog is not drinking or becomes dehydrated (to check for dehydration pull up some skin, if it doesn't spring back immediately then you dog is seriously dehydrated).
I would take the dog in to see a vet immediately if he show signs of
-lethargic/listless
-bloody stools (could be caused from the irritated intestinal tract),
-fever,
-diarrhea persists more than a day or two
-there is weight loss
-dog showing other signs of illness such as labored breathing or pain.

Good luck,

She did. This morning when I woke up to find the "mess" she looked so sad and guilty. When she went out side she tried to poo for like 10 mins in the position. Then she started beating up a stick.

Have you recently changed her diet? Even adding table leftovers can result in the runs. The advice already given is wonderful.

I did give her a cut up chicken breast yesterday along with her dinner. That may have done it. I don't know I hope she gets to feeling better before I get home. I can't stand to have her looking so sad.
