Baffled
Here are pictures of our Sharon.
No pups?!! Poor baby! The vet & breeder we bought her from said if it were resorption, she'd be getting smaller..... do you guys think she is getting smaller? Last edited by whimzikal; 05-17-2005 at 11:13 PM. Reason: spelling |

Sorry Kendra, I'm just catching up on some posts. She doesn't look like she's getting smaller to me, perhaps they are just up in her rib cage. When was her due date again? Sometime they can go over by quite a few days, I'd still treat her as if she were pregnant and see what happens. Good Luck

I don't think she looks any smaller.
I certainly wouldn't take your vets word for it just yet especially if it wasn't your normal vet. If she's not due until the 20th then you've still got at least 2-3 days to go and possibly longer. X-ray’s can be wrong and the babies could just be hiding plus on the 15th you posted those pics and said that when you were asleep you could feel the babies kicking around so that's definitely promising. I doubt that it would be resorption if she had her ultrasound at 32 days, you could feel the babies kicking around and that you could hear their heartbeats. You could always take her for an ultrasound to get it double checked or take her for a second opinion. Can you still feel/hear/see the babies? Well I hope everything turns out OK. Give her an extra hug from me and Lilly! |

If it makes you feel any better, a friend of mine took her Newf bitch in for an ultrasound and was told the dog wasn't pregnant. She gave birth to 5 lovely, healthy pups.

I have to be totally honest with you Kendra...I just looked at the other pictures that you posted a few days back, and I don't see her any smaller!
I like what Brooke suggested...if the funds and time permit it, I'd take her in for another ultrasound. Otherwise I'd just sit tight until Monday...if she doesn't have them by then, then I'd guess it'd be safe to say that they were resorbed.

Thanks all
![]() Everyone here is so supportive. I have advised everyone on our puppy list of the situation. They are all concerned for Sharon but IF I try one more time they all want to wait! I am just going to follow Patty's advise, wait and see. No matter what I love her to death. Last edited by whimzikal; 05-18-2005 at 07:10 PM. Reason: adding |

Poor Sharon, she is still barely eating and sleeping alot.
She has even more milk. I don't want to bother her now, but I will weigh her in the morning. Her private parts are more swollen now as well. night all |

Poor Sharon!
I spoke to Lilly's breeder today and asked if she knew anything about resorption and she said that it's only happened to one of her girls before and the first time it only happened to 1 puppy so her dog continued on normally. But the second time when there were no puppies left she went back to normal, she got smaller, her milk dried up and acted like her normal self again. I'm not sure if it's like that in all cases but I think Sharon could still be pregnant if that is the case. So I guess you'll just have to wait and see. Although if you did have enough money for an extra ultrasound they can show up empty sacks as well as live puppies! Give her a hug from Lilly and me!! |
