Kirby has some red spots on his underside, man he's just full of weird things recently... They look like bites, they're small... But he's protected against fleas and ticks. Mites maybe?
Sorry, I couldn't get very good pictures... My light was bad, and it was really hard to focus on my dog's crotch while holding him at the same time. I'll try again later. lol I'm still trying to play with the close up's settings, to highlight the bite. What would be safe to put on it? He hasn't complained, but I can only imagine what it's like to have a bunch of bites there... (You can see his spotty belly too , His whole body is marked like that)![]()

Haha, I know, I was thinking about that. He's had his bum hole on the forum too (with a big blister on it). Why must all his health deficiencies be on the back half of his body? LOL

Moo, you can try this website. It may help you in finding out what the bites or spots are, and then help you with treating it. Hope its nothing serious.

Oh, Moo, tell Kirby not to worry. Tanner has had his crotch on the forum before also.
What is the weather like by you? Unusually wet and humid for the time of the year? Greta would get something similiar (I forgot what the vet called it, darn it) and would put her on antibiotics and I would apply hydrocortizone cream. But the vet said that it was caused by the damp, humid conditions and was a kind of infection. But Greta spent a lot of time outside and in the marsh. Has he been somewhere that he could have gotten into a stinging plant such as nettle or poison ivy or oak? They are just showing their ugly faces here. Possible that it might be some different kind of insect bite? Spider? Ant? Fly? I wish I could tell you what they are, but I have no idea. Let us know if you figure it out. |

Yes, the weather has been disgusting. It rained for 2 and a half straight weeks, but not unusual for Vancouver. There are alot of bugs around as well. The ants are trying to get in all the time. And there are ugly swarms of (gnats?) all down our block. Kirbs' dots are pretty spread out though, so I don't the it's a rash. I'm guessing bugs. Mites, ants, spiders are mean, but I don't think they're big enough to be spider bites. No mosquitoes yet.
Hydrocortizone is safe for them? We have that here in bucket loads for my brothers' skin allergies and such. If it doesn't help, it can't do much harm can it? How about a grass allergy? Could he have one and since he's so short, it reaches his crotch? When I played soccer on wet grass a couple weeks back, I was covered in mosquito bite like dots after the game, because I made alot of ground contact, (Wet grass= slide tackes) and hadn't taken any antihistsmines that day. |
