7 yellows 4 blacks for Trigger

We'll we have had quit a day!!! You all know the "vet" who said to let her go, she would be just fine? Well, I DID NOT listen to him. She continued to labor for a few hours, and nothing was happening so I went against his advice and called another vet, he said to bring her in to be checked and low and behold, he felt a puppy feet first not moving. He said there may be more, well I got to assist as it was just he and I. He opened Trigger up, one horn full, two full, three!!! He kept handing them to me, the first few looked bad, there bag had opened up and none of them was responding, I had to stimulate them, do the swing to remove the mucus, and give them a shot on the back of their tongue. Well, got them all going, My hands were Full, one, two, and three puppies at a time. The last one was purple, black, took a while but got him going too. Trigger is doing okay, pooped as all get out. We are home now, all pups are nursing like Champs except the first one that was stuck, I have given him sugar water and nutri cal. He just is not sucking at all. His feet are turning purple. My 7 year old is so upset. We are doing everything possible to save this pup.

Any advice is appreciated!!! We dont want to lose this baby.

It does sound like quite a day. Sorry I can't offer any advice on the pup. Sometimes it's just nature's way. You are in my thoughts. Hope they all get stronger & do well.

We got him to nurse a bit. I think tonight will decide his fate, I hope and pray he turns for the better. I saw the saddest sight I have ever seen in my life earlier, I walked by the room the whelping box is in and my 7 year old was sitting in their alone with the pups and crying. He was here when the twin was delivered dead and this little yellow guy who is having a hard time really touched him. Oh my gosh, there is one huge guy, delivered right after the twins, we have been calling him Hoss, he is not going to go without, I want to give him to my brother in law so bad. He had an awesome pup he started trials with that died at a young age, and unfortunately he has not been the same since (bother in law). I think this little guy will make his lab loving heart full again.

I am going to be up every hour on the hour trying to get our wee one to feed. Wish me the best, I do not want to lose him, it would crush my poor kid. The purple feet worry me, but he has discovered he has lungs and is crying his wee heart out.

Depending on how this little one does, will post pics tomorrow.

Congratulations on the babies. I'm sorry to hear that one isn't doing too well. I'll keep you in my thoughts and truly hope everything turns out ok! The best thing you can do is to get him drinking as much as possible (if he isn't drinking on his own then try and express some milk from the mum as well as a supplement, if needed.) Please keep us updated!

Thanks for asking Lilly and her babies are all doing GREAT! The babies are growing well and walking around quite a bit. They are 2 weeks old and all lovely. I'm going to start weaning them next week. I have got some very cute pictures of them on my camera and will post them soon.

Oh, gosh, thank god you got her to the vet! Isn't it always better to trust your instincts? I am glad that Trigger is doing well and that the pups seem to be doing well. I hope your one pup makes it. But sometimes life does funny things. I will be checking back all day for pictures and an update.
