You need to know what days she usually "stands" during her season. Has she been flagging the male - it sounds to me like she is not ready to accept him yet. From other breeders I have spoken to most females aren't ready to stand for the male until between days 10 - 18 of their heat.
It is possible for fertilisation to take place without a tie but the dog must remain in the bitch for a least a couple of minutes after ejaculation (there are 3 fractions to ejaculation - firstly to clear any urine, the second (which happens within a minute of penentration) is the semen and the third fraction is the fluid which helps the sperm get to where it needs to be). The tie just helps it all to stay in place so to speak. |

possible there could be pupps ,from my esperiance when what u say happens the dam isnt usally ready for mating keep trying, with my dogs its usally the 11th or 12th day, but i have had puppys with no ties, with the male pumping for a minute or two then when he goes to turn he flops out,.,,, cross your fingers and prey ,lol, good luck and hope she is pregnant
