    Underweight Chihuahua

So I have accquired a chihuahua from a girl at work who had never had a dog before and bought her from a 'breeder' who suggested Old Roy food. Anyway so now Berg has a 2yo chi sister named Trixie, I have taken her to the vet and she needs to gain about a pound before she can be fixed. I have tried her on a couple of different food and added yoghurt to her meals but I wonder if there is anything else I can try? she is a pretty picky eater but any suggestions would be awesome!

Olive oil is calorie dense - drizzle some on her food. Maybe some meaty bones with marrow to work on too - again, very rich and dense. Good luck!

Peanut butter and raw honey will pack the lb. on your new little dog in no time.

i have had her a few weeks and just having her on halo with some chicken stock is helping alot! I add a little yoghurt but now I feel her kong toy with peanut butter and she loves it. Poor little thing looks extra tiny next to her GIANT Brother Berg

Our Chi was a picky eater and underweight when we got him, too. Peanut butter was a godsend. Good luck!

Glad she is gaining weight. Good for you for taking her in and providing a good home for her.
