Okay, so from what I can gather, the sussex is from a mixture of many different bull breeds (these include Boxers, Bull Mastiffs, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bull Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, and Bulldogs). So likely the exact breeding would not be reproducible. But, apparently the Animal Research Foundation of Europe based in Holland determined the sussex to be of pure blood and able to breed true in 1984. This is the only site that I've found to give information on it http://www.geocities.com/bulldoggewo...sexbulldog.pdf. (Hey, it even has a picture of Clive's Dax on it.)

I'm a bit surprised by these "attacks".Very different from what i'd seen on these forums uptil now.
Quite a few breeds have hazy origins where people just speculate on what may have gone into them. For example the Borzoi was created in the early seventeenth century by importing into Russia"arabiangreyhounds"(whether true greyhounds or saluki-like dogs is uncertain), they were then crossed with local hounds with long coats(again not really well known as to the exact breed of dog) to give them protection against the harsh winters. The dalmation was formed in what is now Croatia from breeds which are not well known, one of them is speculated to be the ancient Rajapalayam( which going by some previous posts is just a mutt because some organisations dont recognise it) which some experts also say is one of the ancetors of the Great Dane. The examples are too numerous to state. And as to the attacks on the grammar used, is'nt that a low blow? Most posts here aren't exactly purple prose! Yaj. |

What is this suppose to mean...
"the Animal Research Foundation of Europe based in Holland determined the sussex to be of pure blood and able to breed true in 1984. " Do any kennel clubs even recognize this breed? Also...true to breed? What does that mean? BTW, HeartSong dont take this as an attack towards you...you are being a messenger filling us in on whatever you can. But do you understand these statements? If you can you explain them. Im a little confused. |
