Question

Well, tommorow we're getting our new puppy. She's 3 months old, and really adorable. However, she'll be staying at a friend's house during the day (and our house at night), until we move next month, since we can't have a puppy in our current home (renters). And we DO work, from 7:00am-3:30pm, and can come home at lunch to play and let the dog out. We're planning on devoting pretty much our entire home life to the puppy (hiking, jogging, walking while she's stil a pup since we can't jog, camping, frisbee, fetch). She'll get a ton of excersize when we're home, or at least till she gets tired. We're really looking forward to having this special little someone to share our lives with. But, we need to know that our situation for her living while we're gone is okay. So, here it is:

1- Puppy crate (it was a hand-me down, not big enough for her at her full size, but perfect for a couple months)
2- 8 panel wire pen (24"wx30"h)
3- Puppy training pads
4- Kongs and balls
5- Fleece or sheepskin blanket/bed for inside her crate
6- Water dish
7- Tarp for on top of floor (the room she'll be in is carpet, so we need to protect the floor if she has an accident)

Do I need anything else? This is the set up she'll have when she comes home, unless I'm notified of changes quickly. Thanks!

Congrats on your puppy! What kind are you getting? In addition to what you have listed, and maybe it is just understood, make sure to get a leash, collar, and tags. And don't forget treats for training! Good luck to you!

She's a little lab mix (she is actually pretty small comparitively). Black with a white-ish chest. She's too cute! The humane society says she looks likes she's mixed with a border collie, but I think pointer, and my mom thinks chessie (that's based on the fact that the have a little chessie-ish fur, and her brother has all the fur, and in the same colour). She is tiny compared to her brother, though, we can tell he's gonna be a lot bigger. But she's too cute for words!

We were gonna pick her up today, but apparently, there was a dog on the truck with her that came up from NM that had distemper, and had to be put to sleep yesterday. So, my baby is now in quarentine for 10 days at the humane society. I'm dying to take her home, and seeing her in the smelly quarentine room (the adoption area is actually very clean, so i was a tad suprised). Hopefully she'll survive through this, we trying to be optomistic. The vets say she'll probably be fine, though, she's acting like a completely normal (but extra cute), puppy.

We just bought everything (other than the food) today. We haven't got the food yet because we got everything else before we found out we wouldn't be getting her for 10 days.

And be sure she'll be getting the leash, collar, tags, treats, and tons of patience
